Limp Bizkit free gig - Finsbury Park 2003
We were among the first 3000 to arrive, which meant we were given wristbands to access the mosh pit. The rest of the audience were behind a barrier in the rest of the park. This worked well in terms of having room to breathe at the front, and safety, but the resentment caused the people behind us to start missiling us. Having been searched for bottles etc on entry (along with a sniffer dog) the stalls inside were selling bottles so missiles were freely available, which was a mistake! However the music was good and it was a fun day over all.
View fullsize thisGIRL weren't very good. Still we had been sitting around for ages, so it was nice to hear some music. |
View fullsize People were starting to squish up against the barrier behind us. |
View fullsize Mike, and the drinks. Sadly being a Carling sponsored event, there was no real beer, only lager. |
View fullsize Ryk hides from the sun. |
View fullsize Biffy Clyro were reasonably popular, but I'd never heard of them. |
View fullsize Mark enjoys a healthy lunch. |
View fullsize Lager or cider... it's the lesser of two evils... |
View fullsize InMe were my favourite of the support acts, so I went further forward to watch. |
View fullsize Cooper Temple Clause were also ok. |
View fullsize Fans build up behind the barrier. We were starting to get missiled by the idiots behind. The idiots in with us didn't ease things much either. Security couldn't stop it. |
View fullsize Ryk in a small patch of sunlight (like a cat?). |
View fullsize The rest of the park - stalls including Metal Morphosis. Next to them was a stall selling poppers which I and Ryk tried. |
View fullsize There was also a funfair. Not my idea of fun! |
View fullsize A were interesting although not my kind of thing. |
View fullsize Mark was missiled by a ketchup bottle. |
View fullsize In the middle of the picture, the singer from A is running along the length of the barrier. People get excited. |
View fullsize Safely back on stage. |
View fullsize Now it is really starting to pack in as we wait for the headline act. |
View fullsize Some girls' arses that we liked. |
View fullsize Limp Bizkit put out a monitor fire while carrying on singing (the small glow on the bottom right of the stage). |
View fullsize Mike. |
View fullsize Mark and Ryk. |
View fullsize Again blurry but atmospheric. |
View fullsize The best shot of Limp Bizkit who were surprisingly good. |
View fullsize Flames! Part of the show this time. |
View fullsize The set ended with a manic version of Faith in which all the lasses were encouraged to get into the air, hence those on shoulders. |
