I received your letter. Thank you very much. Dear parents, we too are keeping well and happy. Today is 22.05.2004. So I'm writing this letter to you. We celebrated our Sinhalese New Year this April. We celebrate "Wesak" in May. Lord Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and passed away on a full moon day in May. It is known as the "Thrice Sacred Day".
Dear parents, I wish to see you. Please try to pay a visit to our country this year. Now I'm spending my school holidays. We go to see the "Wesak" and "Poson" decorations. Wesak lanterns were lit. They were very beautiful. I like the picture of the Christmas tree sent to me with the letter. Thank you very much.
A New Year Festival was held in our school this time in April. There were dances and singing. A New Year Princess was selected. Games such as keeping the eye to the elephant (blindfolded), playing "Pancha", Pillow fights etc.
Now I shall conclude this letter until I write to you again.
