Why did I buy it?
I'd seen the show and thought it would be good.
This CD looked full of promise - collaborations with some great artists such as Dr John, David Gilmour, Sting, Paul Weller and Jamiroquai. It has 22 tracks, and covers a range of familiar songs such as "I put a spell on you" and "Say Hello Wave Goodbye"... but it just fails to engage me in any way at all. It is completely underwhelming, and just dull. I've seen the collaborations on Jools's show "Later..." but this is nothing like it - no energy, no enthusiasm, just a collection of songs. The music is played fine, but it does nothing for me.
The only track of note is "Horse to the Water" recorded with George Harrison
shortly before his death.
A shame - Ive been looking forward to this album for a while and it could have been exciting.
No - and I gave it away!
