Recipe - Simple chocolate truffles
It's very simple indeed and yet so tasty!
Ingredients
- 150ml thick cream
- 100g dark cooking chocolate
- Cocoa powder
- Splash of alcohol if desired
Method
Break the chocolate into pieces and melt in a microwave (stirring every half minute until it's soft and then every 15 seconds until runny - don't let it boil!) Then add the chocolate to the cream, stirring gently until it's all mixed in. If you wish, add a dash of brandy. Pop the bowl into the fridge to cool for one hour. After the mixture has cooled, cover a worksurface with cocoa. Scoop the mixture into small pieces (about one dessert spoon) and round into a ball in your hand, then roll in the cocoa.
Makes about ten truffles, which taste as good as bought ones!
Store in the fridge, but remove a while before serving so they aren't too solid.
